Issue 6 of The Bomb Surf is now online

Issue 6 was sent to 8000 subscribers in March 2010 and the feedback was immediate and overwhelming! The phrase “best issue yet” seemed to be a recurring one. Perhaps it was something to do with the fact that some of the biggest and craziest waves ever ridden were captured on camera and published in this issue, in a feature called “Big Game Hunters” covering the South African domination of Big Wave surfing in both the Northern and Souther Hemispheres. Twiggy Baker snagged the cover riding a MASSIVE wave at Jaws, and local hero Chris Bertish won international acclaim winning the Big Wave event at Mavericks in Northern California. Former WCT surfer Greg Emslie rates the 4 SA WCT surfers chances on the 2010 tour, while we take readers on a surf tour of Tasmania with Dr. Philip Chapman. Some of the acclaim was certainly reserved for 2 very insightful articles on facing fear, by Paddy Upton and Ocean Power as an alternative energy source, by Kerry Wright – both respected experts in
their fields. Finally, Mad Mutt reports on “The most pumpingest summer ever” in a hilarious look at the Cape scene which scored waves for 4 months solid.
