WakeBoarding in Adderly Street fountain
Fox Clothing South Africa were in Cape Town for the Pro – X, which went down in Malmesbury over the weekend. Part of the event was a wakeboarding demonstration but this was cancelled when the pools holding the water broke open, spilling 200 00 l of water and ruining any chance of riding. Determined to get into water of some kind they guys packed everything up and headed in search of a aspot to ride, arriving in downtown city centre. There were a few waders in the Adderley fountain and that looked like the perfect opportunity to get wet. Quickly setting up a winch, a motorized device used to pull wakeboarders and wakeskaters in areas too small to use a boat or jetski, they enjoyed roughly half an hour of riding before the metro police told them they weren’t allowed to ride boards in municipal property, although bathing was apparently condoned. Not to be deterred, they packed up and quickly found another, less conspicuous location in the waterways and canals near the ICC, where they continued their session uninterrupted. “Dorin Bambus”
